DARTMOUTH COACH FAQ's

Ticketing Information
Do I need to make a reservation?

Dartmouth Coach does not accept reservations. All service is first come, first board. Please arrive 15 minutes before bus departure. Every effort will be made to accommodate all passengers during peak travel times. Tickets may be purchased in advance, but do not guarantee a seat. Tickets are not time or date specific, unless you purchase a "same-day roundtrip" ticket, which is only good for the date purchased.

Do you sell Amtrak tickets?

Amtrak tickets are purchased directly from Amtrak. For more information call 1-800-USA-RAIL or visit Amtrak's website.

How do I purchase tickets?

Tickets are purchased at the Dartmouth Transportation Center located at 90 Etna Road in Lebanon, NH. In Boston, tickets are purchased at South Station at the Dartmouth Coach/Concord Coach Lines ticket counter. If you are traveling from Hanover, NH, New London, NH, or Logan Airport, tickets are purchased from the driver (see agency page for more information).

Where do I buy my tickets at Logan Airport?

Tickets are arranged from the driver at Logan Airport. See Logan Airport agency information for designated pickup locations.

Policies & Procedures
Does Dartmouth Coach have a cell phone policy?

Yes. We discourage the use of cellular phones on all Dartmouth Coach buses with the exception of those situations where either a quick message or circumstances beyond our control delays the arrival time of a passenger for a meeting or travel connection. Dartmouth Coach requests that the use of cell phones be limited out of respect and courtesy to fellow passengers.

Can I bring my dog/cat/bird/etc. on the bus?

Federal regulations prohibit us from carrying any and all animals except a service animal accompanying a legally deaf, blind or disabled person.

Why do I have to show a photo I.D. to ride the bus?

Dartmouth Coach requires a photo I.D. for all passengers traveling with an adult ticket. We do not require identification for children under the age of 12 traveling with a parent or guardian, however, if they are traveling alone, they will need a school I.D., passport, or copy of their birth certificate. Children under the age of 17 with no photo I.D. must be accompanied by an adult with a photo I.D. upon purchasing a ticket.

These are security measures that we take in the event that there is an emergency and allows us to assist officials in identifying who traveled on a particular day. We do not generate passenger lists for each bus, therefore, we require you to show your I.D. each time you travel. This information is not stored in our system. We print your name on the ticket to ensure that you are the person traveling (see Ticketing Information). If you have questions on acceptable forms of I.D. or special circumstances, please contact Dartmouth Coach directly at 1-800-637-0123. Our General Information section of the website also contains this information as well as a list of acceptable forms of identification.

Is smoking allowed on the bus?

No. Smoking is not allowed on any bus.

Are there restrooms on the bus?

Yes. All Dartmouth Coach buses are equipped with a restroom.

Can I bring a bicycle on the bus?

Bicycles must be disassembled and boxed. Bicycles are carried in the baggage compartment when there is sufficient room after all other baggage has been loaded. There is an additional charge.

Do I have to move my own bags from bus to bus?

Yes. Drivers and ticket agents are not required to lift/load luggage weighing in excess of 50lbs. See the ticket agent to weigh your luggage before boarding the bus.

If you require assistance, please notify the driver and someone can assist you to the next departure gate. Please be aware that there are baggage limits: 2 bags and 1 carry-on for a full fare ticket, and 1 bag and 1 carry-on for a child ticket. If you are making connections to Greyhound, they have different baggage handling procedures. Visit the Greyhound website or call 1-800-231-2222 for more information.

Does Dartmouth Coach cancel service due to weather?

Generally, Dartmouth Coach does not cancel service due to weather unless driving conditions become a threat to passenger safety. Weather cancellations are posted on our website as they become available. Cancellations can also be obtained by calling the Lebanon, NH terminal at 1-800-637-0123.
